In early 2022, we are again able to provide theatrical screenings based upon health advisories being lifted for COVID-19.

Virtual cinema options continue to also available:

A virtual cinema is a new way for audiences to watch a movie from the safety of your home during this unprecedented time while also supporting your local independent theater. We love and miss independent theaters as much as you do. That’s why we gave 50% of net proceeds from hosting multiple virtual cinemas in four states during April 2020! Suggest this option to your local theater.

Make it Virtual

• We suggest 10-day theatrical runs to maximize the exposure.
• Pick your own ticket price (minimum price is $10.00).
• If we sell the tickets, split is 50% after net ticket sales to cover third party expenses (currently $2.53 on a $10 ticket).
• Provide a promo codes for discounts or ticket giveaways!
• We can provide a passcode for tickets being sold by you.
• A link to our state-of-the-art password protected virtual theater on our website, using Vimeo to the host the film.
• We can provide digital artwork if requested.
• We will promote to our social media channels as a normal theatrical screening.
• Pick the currently scheduled half hour director’s video talk back for your patrons. 

Keep the theatrical simple

You sell tickets or we do: We provide you with a promo code and a link to password protected page where viewers can watch the movie. Your viewer enters their unique one-time code but they pay you through your box office to obtain that code.* Or we setup our ticketing through a third party service like eventbrite and collect the money.

When the screening period ends, we give you the box office report from our third party (highlighting the gross expenses) along with your earned receipt from our split of the net.

Not a bad result for just needing to promote and sell tickets to your existing captive, stay-at-home audience? There is also no limit to the number of seats being sold in a venue, nor family members or friends that might be watching together. It is a win-win for everyone.

Best Practices

After screening either film with community, there is a talk back, answering general questions about The Unruly Mystics, and a great discussion around awe and inspiration.  People leave wanting to have more meaningful encounters with their own spiritual practice.  This effect has been realized with all our screenings, from Harvard Divinity School to 270 seat theatrical settings.  Here is an opportunity to do a benefit screening like when we raised funds for a local Sierra Club Group or Hildegard inspired comfort care home in Louisville, KY to a fundraiser for a Catholic parish church in Ohio. The opportunities are endless when Saint Hildegard or John Muir are put to work!  

 Step 1: Watch the trailer for the movie you want

Our trailer will give you a sense of the film, plus there are many wonderful quotes below the header.  If you need an audience reference, look at where the film has already played!   Let us help you sell your community on this inspirational experience!

Step 2:  Confirm your license type. 

There are two levels of screening available. 

1. Non-Theatrical License:

$299 for communities, schools or churches.  You advertise to the community.  You provide the venue (ideally video projection system with good sound). We send you the DVD or digital file of the film.  You bring your own audience.  Works best for 40 people or less.

Once you purchase the non-theatrical license through PayPal, you will be given a link to access the film online along with a password in a separate email.  If you need a DVD or Bluray please let us know in your instructions and we will mail that to you.

2. Theatrical screening License: 

Based upon the theater size there is a license cost per each movie theater screening time.  You rent the theater. You can advertise to general public.  Filmmaker may be able to be in attendance if timing and cost works.  This is a wonderful opportunity for fundraisers too!  These screenings are available for Digital Cinema Projectors.  We ship to the theater a required DCP file.

Please contact us to discuss this license more detail.  There are certain situations where we will rent the theater and work with you to bring the community.  We want to make this easy!
